Yumu Tap Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-23 · Version: v1.0

Important: provisions limiting our liability are shown in bold. By tapping "Agree & Continue" you accept these Terms.

1. The Service. Yumu Tap is a speech-to-text app operated by Shanghai Cuma Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us"). You press and hold anywhere on the screen to talk; on release, your speech is transcribed and shown in large type. It supports Mandarin, Cantonese and English recognition, and transcripts can be edited and copied. The Service requires network access and microphone permission; some features, such as cross-device accounts and the shared account allowance, rely on remote servers we operate. Each press-and-hold dictation lasts up to 60 seconds; the app warns you near the limit and finishes automatically. We may provide a free usage allowance. Any free allowance is provided at our discretion; its size, reset cycle and availability may be adjusted, suspended or discontinued, with changes announced in-app or by other reasonable means, and such changes do not affect purchases you have already made. To keep the Service stable and fairly used, we may apply quotas, rate limits and other technical measures.

2. Account. You sign in with an email address and a one-time code. Keep your credentials secure. You may request account deletion at any time (see Contact below), after which we will delete or anonymize your account data to the extent permitted by law and required for compliance. Yumu Tap and Yumu share the same account system, monthly free allowance and subscription entitlements; usage is accounted across both apps, and an account deletion initiated from either app deletes the same shared account.

3. Purchases. This app currently offers no in-app purchases. Free allowances and subscription entitlements are shared with the Yumu app (see Section 2). If you purchase a subscription or usage pack in the Yumu app via in-app purchase (Apple App Store / Google Play), billing, renewal and refunds are governed by the respective store's terms; request refunds through the store. Paid quotas are as described on the purchase screen, are non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash except as required by law or as we may promise. We may adjust pricing and plan structures; adjustments apply only to new purchases or the next billing cycle, announced in advance as required by law.

4. Availability; Disclaimer.

  1. The Service depends on network connectivity and remote servers we operate. If the Service is interrupted, delayed, or fails to transcribe or save content due to: (1) force majeure (natural disasters, war, epidemics, strikes, acts of government, changes in law); (2) third-party causes (carrier network failures, power outages, hacking, malware); (3) scheduled maintenance, upgrades or repairs (announced in advance where practicable); or (4) your own network conditions, device faults or unauthorized system modifications — we will try to minimize the impact but, to the extent permitted by applicable law, are not liable.
  2. The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by applicable law, we make no express or implied warranty of uninterrupted, timely or secure service. Where damage is caused by our intent or gross negligence, we bear liability under the law.
  3. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability for property damage caused by our negligence (excluding intent or gross negligence) is limited to the total amount you actually paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limit does not apply to personal injury or to liability that may not be limited under applicable law.
  4. Transcripts are generated automatically by speech-recognition algorithms, may contain errors, and are for reference only — do not rely on them as the sole basis for medical, legal or financial decisions.
  5. This clause does not affect any rights you have as a consumer.

5. Acceptable Use. Do not use the Service to record or transcribe content involving state secrets, others' privacy or trade secrets, or to infringe any third-party rights or applicable law. You are responsible for the lawfulness of content you transcribe. You also agree not to use automated means, bulk account registration or other methods to repeatedly obtain free allowances or circumvent service limits, or to interfere with or place abnormal load on the Service.

6. Intellectual Property; Your Content. The app and its assets belong to us. Your transcripts and recordings belong to you and are stored on your device by default; apart from transmitting audio over an encrypted connection for recognition, with your separate consent (e.g. the "Help improve recognition" corpus upload described in the Privacy Policy), or as required by law, we do not access or use your content.

7. Changes; Termination. We may revise these Terms and will notify you of material changes in-app. You may stop using the Service at any time; we may suspend or terminate it for serious breaches of these Terms or the law. We may also suspend the Service for an account while we investigate conduct that we confirm, or reasonably suspect, violates these Terms or the law or constitutes abuse; where a suspension turns out to be mistaken, we will restore the Service promptly.

8. Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes shall first be resolved by negotiation, failing which either party may bring proceedings before a competent court in Shanghai.
